It will introduce you to the first steps in jewellery gouache painting. We will start from drawing beads and as a result of the masterclass you will be able to paint a beads necklace!

ABOUT THE TUTOR
Inesa Kovalova
International jewellery designer with extensive experience in drawing.
After the background in academic drawing from the art and architecture schools she developed her jewellery design skills at Creative Academy - private design school by Richemont group in Milan and Central Saint Martins in London, followed by an internship in Van Cleef and Arpels design department in Paris.
Combining her drawing skills with extensive practical experience in the industry she worked out the series of jewellery drawing programs of different levels for jewellery designers and lovers. Since 2016 Inesa has been teaching around the globe. For her masterclasses she collaborated with different art and design institutions, including Victoria and Albert museum in London and DIVA in Antwerpen.

step by step we guide you to your first jewellery illustration!
- Introduction to jewellery illustration and working with gouache paintWe will learn why and how gouache technique is used in the jewellery illustration.
- Light and shadow for opaque and transparent beadsUnderstanding of light is a key while depicting 3D objects. We will learn the main principle and how objects interact with a light source
- Painting beads necklaceAfter the trials, you will paint your first necklace using provided template. We will provide all necessary guidance for your independent work. Afterwards you can submit your work for review, but it is not obligatory.

MATERIALS
For the masterclass you will need:
- gouache paints - colours of your choice + white
- toned paper (grey or any other colours you like)
- 2 brushes - bigger and smaller one
we provide printable templates, but you can also use a ruler with circles or draw them by hand.
